OT: Another completist project

A more palatable completist project

Today's WSJ brings us news of people on eGullet who are going through the entire Savoy Cocktail Book of 1930. While I envy them, I also identify with this part:

"Perhaps the greatest risk in going through the book cocktail by cocktail is not that one will suffer the occasional vile concoction, but that the endless repetition of drinks that are essentially similar will become tiresome. It would take more patience than I possess to count up how many drinks in the 'Savoy Cocktail Book' are made of 2/3 gin, 1/3 dry vermouth and a negligible amount of something else."

Kind of like reading a bunch of "Act I, Scene 1"s

So, as I have mentioned, when I'm too lazy to actually go to the books I sometimes do the readings as referred to by this site, which was organized to help some group do the exact same thing I'm doing.

There are no readings listed in Category:February. It's like Roanoke Island or something.

And bear in mind

This is hardly the only project of its kind, and I find myself dipping from time to time into this project, where a critic named Christopher Beha read the whole 50 volumes.

Although I have to read every day, whereas he could wait until, like, Sunday to read the whole volume. (He whined.)

I have been using this page to read online when I haven't been able, or wanted, to read the book version.

It only goes up till tomorrow. It's like reading Scott's journal or something.
